About this Event

Collegium Institute is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to explore Flannery O’Connor’s final novel, The Violent Bear It Away, in a seminar series led by three distinguished O’Connor scholars. Jessica Hooten Wilson, Amy Alznauer, and Jennifer Frey—all of whom served as panelists during last week's event—expressed a willingness to lead a second webinar series, if there is sufficient demand. This seminar would have three sessions, meeting from 5:00pm–6:00pm on Thursday evenings beginning next Thursday, June 18th.

Due to the high demand, we are opening up this second seminar, as the first filled up. In order to make this additional seminar series possible, we would need to request a registration fee to cover some costs. Registration is $50 by 11:59pm this Wednesday (June 10) and $60 thereafter. In addition to access to the three sessions, participants would receive a digital copy of The Violent Bear It Away as well as the opportunity to submit questions, comments, and areas of interest related to the novel to the seminar facilitators before each session. We received nearly 100 questions during Wednesday’s special event that could not be addressed within our time constraints, and we intend for the modified structure of this webinar series to make it much more possible for your questions to be collated, considered, and addressed.
